Who could be more effective than a clever, motivated woman behind a detective’s badge? That’s the question MAE ARNOLD put to Allan Pinkerton. And then she proceeded to prove it, uncovering the largest fraud scheme ever seen during the Colorado gold rush of 1859.
MAE ARNOLD – THE FIFTY-NINERS is a historical thriller in which a young, recently widowed, woman seeks employment at Pinkerton’s Detective Agency in hopes of solving her husband’s grisly murder. Her first assignment pits her against a cold-hearted businessman who cancels people instead of their debts. The story is historically representative and follows MAE’S struggles with cold-hearted killers and her own sense of heart and compassion becoming a hardened detective.
Readers of Louis L’Amour’s The Cherokee Trail, Nancy E Turner’s Sarah Agnes Prine series, or JT Edson’s Calamity Jane series will fall in love with MAE. She becomes a master of disguise, a chameleon whose appearance changes to suit the need as she unravels multiple cases to find the common denominator in her quest.
MAE ARNOLD – THE FIFTY-NINERS is a standalone novel with series potential. It’s a fast-paced, character-driven thriller that demands all of MAE’S grit. She was the heroine of her times, and the heroine we could use today.
A NOVEL IN PROGRESS
Mae Arnold, Pinkerton Detective Agency’s first woman detective, goes undercover in 1861 to infiltrate Baltimore society as a plantation owner’s wife in historical thriller MAE ARNOLD: REBELLION SPY. After verifying a plot to assassinate President-elect Abraham Lincoln as he travels to Washington for his inauguration, Mae safely smuggles him onto an unscheduled train to the capital. Afterwards, she thwarts another plot to send a submersible full of explosives up the Potomac River to wreak havoc on the capital city. Though her subterfuge threatens a new friendship that is important to Mae, her patriotic efforts are rewarded with forgiveness.
Historical fact and fiction blend in this character-driven, action packed thriller set in America's most volatile period, the civil war. MAE's assignment demands all of her grit and resources. A standalone novel, it has series potential.
This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
This is a content preview space you can use to get your audience interested in what you have to say so they can’t wait to learn and read more. Pull out the most interesting detail that appears on the page and write it here.
ALISTAIR RAPIO didn’t like losing. When his horse was hot he was unbeatable, but that lowered the odds, which felt like losing to Rapio. So, he devised a plan enabling him to win or lose at will.
FAST GEMINI is a techno- thriller in which a bright young scientist risks everything to figure out what was behind the unpredictable success of RAPIO’s horse. GRANT BENJAMIN, a leader in the science of cloning, was in the best position to see through RAPIO’s illegal activities, but his gambling habit threatened to cost him his job, and RAPIO’s men threatened to cost him more than that.
Readers of Michael Crichton’s “Rising Sun” and “The Great Train Robbery,” or Dick Francis’s books will like the familiar path BENJAMIN takes on his quest for answers. Along the way, he must come to grips with his compulsion and repair damage to his career.
